RENOVATION!

Our construction company and membership joined together for the groundbreaking on our long-awaited renovation on Sept 21.  In February we will be worshiping in the Parish Hall as the sanctuary goes through Renovation.

Congregational Activities
Worship:  Join us as we celebrate Pentecost

 

God of tender care, like a mother, like a father, you never forget your children, and you know already what we need.  In all our anxiety, give us trusting and faithful hearts, that in confidence we may embody the peace and justice of your Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.  Amen.

          Christmas in July!

          • We will celebrate Christmas in July with our friends in ministry, Chaplain Chim Mandalia & his wife Faye, from the Lutheran Maritime Ministry on July 26th. This is an opportunity to bring Christmas boxes for the seafarers and learn more about this ministry.  Learn more at: http://www.lmmnewsletter.blogspot.com
          • On Sunday, July 26, the youth & education programs will have a pancake breakfast from 7am to 10:30 am to benefit our Christmas program, "Hark!" which will be held on December 19 & 20.

Study: Join us in Bible reading and reflecting on God's Amazing Grace

   
  • We share our time, talents, and treasures here and in the community.  ELCA's online spiritual gifts assessment can help you discern your spiritual gifts.
  • Women of the ELCA (WELCA) has circles for study and sewing.  Check the WELCA page and the calendar
  • Join us on Sunday, June 28 from 9:15 a.m. - 10:15 a.m. in the Conference Room as Julie Ball concludes the series "Jesus Confronts Today's Controversies."
  • Pastor Hall will continue the Book of Faith class on Sundays at 9:15 a.m. in July. 
  • “Heroes of Faith” Intergenerational Vacation Bible School is Aug 2, 9 & 16 at 9:15 a.m.
  • Pastor Hall will lead a study on Hebrews on Wednesdays at 10 a.m., August 5-26
  • Some of our music leaders provide private lessons.  Glenda Nativo teaches beginner to advanced piano - (760) 792-8123;
    Herb Iverson teaches piano and organ—all skill levels (909) 882-6886; and Anca Gheorghe teaches beginning piano (909) 435-1999
Fellowship: Join us as we enjoy and encourage each other
  • Rebecca Circle invites you to join in the sewing fun on June 25, July 23, and July 30 at 9:00 a.m.  No experience necessary! Projects benefit area veterans, those hospitalized, and others in need. 
  • Our Prayer Group meets every Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. to pray for the needs of the  church, the community, and the world.  Feel free to come and join in!
  • Youth groups meet every other week for food and fun.  Learn more about Youth...
  • Auditions for "Hark!" are Sunday, August 30 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.
  • Encourage someone with a free e-card at Lutherans Online E-Greeting Cards.

Service: Join us in supporting our community and those in need
Blood        Can you spare a pint?  We need to get more donations to our congregation's blood donor club so we can meet the needs of our members.  You can donate to any donor center at any time just specify Lutheran Church of Our Savior, San Bdno in the donor club line of your donation.  Our nearest center is at 384 W. Orange Show Rd, San Bdno. Find out more about blood donation including donor hours at Lifestream.

Central City Lutheran Mission

You can help us feed the homeless men and women at the Central City Lutheran Mission (CCLM) by bringing needed food & serving items to collection box in the Church narthex.

Rev. John Lunn  Healthcare for
India & Liberia

Meet John Lunn, an ELCA missionary serving as a healthcare resource specialist in India & Liberia. John spends half of his time with palliative care (care for the dying) at Christian Medical College in Vellore, South India, and another half of his time traveling to other Lutheran partner hospitals to provide presentations and classes for nurses, pastors, ICU doctors, and community groups. Rev. Lunn is a featured missionary for the ELCA Global Mission Lenten Series.  Individuals support John through their prayers and their financial support.  John has a specific list of prayer requests.  You can also view photos from India and even get A Sambar Recipe from India.  You can contribute to financial support by signing up in the church Entryway for $23 per week.   More information including letters from John, see Missionary Lunn.

St. Nicholas fund The St. Nicholas fund is a place where members & supporters can help those in need.  Contributions to the St. Nicholas Fund can be dropped in the offering or mailed to the church office. Just note "St. Nicholas Fund" in the memo line of your check. Contributions are tax deductible and will be recorded on your contribution record.
Health and Emergency Preparedness

Are you ready for an emergency or disaster?  Do you have a family emergency plan and emergency supplies?  Need preparedness information?  Need phone numbers or emergency alert radio stations to check on a current emergency?  Check out the resources of our disaster ministry.
